No more pornography ...

Human nature being what it is, some people will find their way by accident or intention to some of the Internet's less helpful content. Our own research shows that in a public internet, at least 12% of the resources accessed can be pornographic in nature. There are very good reasons to screen this content out:

Many of our user sites are schools or orphanages, with young Internet users.
In contexts where users belong to faith groups, or are working in regions where pornography is illegal (e.g. under Sharia law).
There is strong evidence linking the spread of some viruses, worms and other computer malware to the downloading of pornographic material.
VSAT bandwidth is expensive. On a shared network, we do not want any customer to be negatively impacted as they go about their work simply because another customer is hogging bandwidth for unhelpful recreation.

From November, 2006 DRASTIC introduced mandatory content filtering at source for all of its customers.

This is managed in a proactive way to make sure that users can get to all the business and recreational sites that they want to, except those with "adult" content.
